The IF Kernel Overview
The IF Kernel System is written in C++ and is implemented as a Dynamic Link Library for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, and Windows NT 4.0 Server.

Our first filter that recorded logs was in July of 1995. They were more of an espionage feature that a filtering feature or rather a psychological filtering feature. We were contacted by some businesses that wanted to "trap" employees for the purpose of firing. The logs would be the proof they needed for malfeasance. They wanted to avoid any "wrongful dismissal" legal scenario.

The information superhighway has its potholes. Many parents say concerns and complaints are mounting against material available on the Internet.
Some televisions allow parents to lock out stations they don't want their children to view. Why not on the computer?
- We originally released the first version of the Internet Filter in 1995, before Windows 95 was available. One of it’s original features was the access log.
- The Grand Forks Gazette had written an article about the product in 1995.
